Times Of India Denies Its "Interest" In UK’s Trinity Mirror

The Times of India Group has denied that it’s looking at bidding for UKmedia group Trinity Mirror. Reuters quotes a spokeswoman for the group’sUK subsidiary TIML Golden Square Ltd as saying: “There is no truth in the rumours.”

Earlier, the market rumours suggested that Bennett, Coleman & Co was planning a bid on Trinity Mirror whose market cap had diminished by one-tenth after some pension fund deficit issues (see our ). The shares of Trinity Mirror had also risen from 54.75 pence on July 15 to 92.25 on July 24.

Bennett, Coleman had earlier bought Virgin Radio Holdings Ltd in theUKfrom Scottish media company SMG for £53.2 million ($105.2 million).
