Jabong co-founder Praveen Sinha on its aggressive play, managing logistics & more

Jabong.com banged into the top rung of Indian e-commerce industry in a short span of time (read here for our previous feature on the venture). It has also the right kind of pedigree to do so with marketing dollars (or shall we say euros?) coming from Rocket Internet, the new-age technology investment venture of Germany’s Samwer brothers. Rocket Internet specialises in developing copycat consumer internet projects around the world, powered by aggressive marketing and laced with the objective of selling it or exiting with a profit when they have made their mark. Lifestyle products e-tailer Jabong is one among a bunch of such online properties created by Rocket Internet in India, but certainly the most successful so far.

As it just completed a year, Techcircle.in caught up with Praveen Sinha, one of the co-founders who represent the front end of the business (since foreign investment in multi-brand direct consumer retail offline or online was banned till recently). In this video interaction, Sinha talks about the aggressive marketing strategy, managing logistics in-house, private label in the works and much more.
