Do most investors shy away from agriculture and food sectors?

Private investment in the food and agriculture sector fell last year as commodity prices declined. This inaccessibility to capital is a big challenge in a sector that already battles difficulties such as fragmented land holdings and a large number of small farmers. But in a largely agrarian society like India, why aren’t investors interested in driving the next green revolution?
