Corporate law firm Juris Corp elevates two lawyers as partners

Mumbai-headquartered boutique corporate law firm Juris Corp has promoted two principal associates—Nand Gopal Anand in Delhi and Arunabh Choudhary in Bangalore—to partners, taking the total number of partners at the law firm to 11.

Anand is an ILS Law College, Pune alumnus who started his career with Juris in 2006. He re-joined the firm in 2015 and heads project finance and corporate banking practice in Delhi, said a press statement.

Choudhary is from the 2010 batch of National Law University, Jodhpur, and he advises clients on Competition Commission of India (CCI) matters and deals in complex issues faced by emerging fintech entities, including aggregators. His other areas of expertise are commercial law, tech laws, private equity and securities.

“They have created a mark for themselves in their domain and are not just great lawyers but also remarkable team-builders,” said Jayesh H, founder partner, Juris Corp, in the statement.

With the government implementing the bankruptcy code and the rollout date for the Goods and Services Tax (GST) decided, law firms specialising in banking and finance are readying themselves for more work, especially from banks and other financial institutions.

Earlier this month, Juris Corp's banking partner Jeet Sen Gupta quit to join corporate and dispute resolution firm Vertices Partners.

Around the same time last year, Juris had elevated Avikshit Moral, an expert in real estate and corporate commercial practice, to partner in Mumbai office.
